![]() The Bullet That Missed is a perfect example of how to write a cosy mystery that is both entertaining and smart. A new mystery is afoot in the third book in the Thursday Murder Club series from million-copy bestselling author Richard Osman. And of course, there was plenty of humour and warmth throughout, which made me smile and laugh out loud several times. Osman also managed to weave in some topical issues, such as cryptocurrency, money laundering, and media ethics, without being preachy or boring. There were twists and turns galore, as well as some surprising connections between the various suspects and victims. The plot was also very engaging and well-paced. They are all so different, but they work together brilliantly and have a genuine friendship. I especially enjoyed the dynamic between the four main protagonists: Elizabeth, the former spy Joyce, the sweet and curious widow Ibrahim, the retired psychiatrist and Ron, the ex-trade union leader. Osman has a knack for creating memorable characters who are both hilarious and endearing. I absolutely loved this book! It was witty, clever, suspenseful, and full of heart. But this time, they have a hot case on their hands: the disappearance of a TV reporter who was investigating a massive fraud scheme.
